Aircond Gas Top-Up Malaysia For Homes & Businesses

Is your aircond running but never quite turning cold? Low refrigerant is one of the most common reasons. A proper aircond gas top-up in Malaysia — done only after we check for a leak — gets your R32 or R410 unit blowing icy air again, for homes, condos, offices and shops, often same day.

What It Is

When Your Aircond Needs A Gas Top-Up

Refrigerant — the gas inside your aircond — is what actually pulls the heat out of your room and pushes cold air back in. When the level drops, the unit keeps running but the air coming out feels lukewarm, and the compressor outside works overtime for very little cooling.

The catch is that a sealed aircond should never lose gas on its own. If yours is low, it has leaked out somewhere — so we trace and check for the leak first, then top up the correct R32 or R410 refrigerant to the right pressure. That way the cold comes back and stays back.

What’s Included

Our Gas Top-Up In Detail

Every visit follows the same order — diagnose first, then refill — so you’re not paying to refill a system that’s still leaking.

Gas Pressure Check

We connect a gauge to read the system pressure and confirm exactly how low the refrigerant has run.

Leak Detection First

Before any gas goes in, we trace the joints, coil and pipework to find where the refrigerant escaped.

R32 Refrigerant Top-Up

For newer units, we refill the correct R32 gas to the exact pressure the manufacturer specifies.

R410 Refrigerant Top-Up

For existing R410 systems, we top up with the matching gas type — never mixed or substituted.

Cooling Performance Test

We run the unit and measure the air temperature to confirm the cold has properly come back.

Fittings & Valve Check

We check the flare nuts, service valves and connections so the new charge stays sealed in the system.

These are general market ranges only. Your price depends on the gas type (R32 or R410), how much refrigerant is needed, the unit size (HP) and whether a leak has to be repaired first. Checking and topping up a few units together is usually cheaper per unit — WhatsApp us a photo of your outdoor unit label for an accurate quote.

FAQ

Questions About Gas Top-Up

Common questions about aircond gas top-ups in Malaysia. Still not sure? Send us a message and we’ll help.

Ask Rapid Aircond Service
What are the signs my aircond needs a gas top-up?
The clearest sign is air that blows but never turns truly cold, even on the lowest temperature. You might also see ice forming on the copper pipes or indoor coil, the room taking much longer to cool, or the unit running non-stop without ever cutting off. These usually point to a dropped refrigerant level.
Why check for a leak before topping up?
A sealed aircond doesn’t burn off gas the way a car burns petrol — if the level is low, the refrigerant has escaped somewhere. Topping up without finding the leak just means the new gas leaks out again within weeks. We check for leaks first so the top-up lasts and you don’t pay twice. A bad leak may need a repair instead.
What’s the difference between R32 and R410?
R410 is an older blended refrigerant used in many existing units, while R32 is a newer single-component gas in most recent models — it cools efficiently with a lower environmental impact. The two aren’t interchangeable, so we match the exact gas your unit is built for, which is printed on the outdoor unit’s label.
How often does aircond gas need topping up?
A healthy, well-sealed unit should never need a routine top-up — the gas stays in the system for the life of the aircond. If yours needs refilling every year or two, that signals a slow leak at a joint or coil that should be repaired rather than just refilled again.
How much does a gas top-up cost in Malaysia?
A top-up typically runs from around RM 150 to RM 300 per unit, depending on the gas type, how much is needed and the unit size. A leak check starts from around RM 100, and a leak repair with a top-up from around RM 200. We confirm the price before any work begins.
